The Highland Adult Athletic Booster Club is always looking for volunteers as our entire organization is volunteer-run. Each year our club is looking for volunteers in at least five (5) areas:
- Tailgate Party Committee
- Bowling Fundraiser Committee
- Flower/Voucher Sale Committee
- Sponsorship Committee
- Board of Directors
What does a volunteer do on a Committee?
Volunteers on our committees get together outside of the monthly booster club meetings at a time that is agreeable to the committee chairperson and the majority of it’s committee members. The committee chairperson is responsible for updating the board of directors at regularly scheduled booster club meetings on the status of the committee’s planning for their event or opportunity. If the committee chairperson cannot make the meeting, they should appoint another representative from that committee to share the status update.
Committee member volunteers are needed to help with an assortment of things, thus the need for more volunteers! Here are just a few of the things we might be looking for in different volunteers:
- Come up with ideas
- Be creative
- Keep the committee organized and on-track
- Assist with marketing the event or opportunity
- Collect donations
- Take notes
- Be techy (or not)
- Make signs (on the computer or by hand)
- Hand out flyers
- Run errands
- Make phone calls
What are you good at and what do you have time for? We’d like to use you for your strengths, so if you see a need – fill it! We might not know what we need until you show us that we need it.
What does the Board of Directors do?
Our board of directors consists of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The president is responsible for running the meetings, setting the agenda and for the overall direction and organization of the club. The vice president is there to assist the president. The secretary takes the minutes of each monthly club meeting. The treasurer is responsible for all financial management and reporting within the club.
We don’t have restrictions to how many committees you can participate within. You can be on one, some, or all committees. Sign up for a committee now!
